Welcome to Year 1

Have a look below to find out what we are getting up to this term.

Our topic this half-term is Castles. We started our topic by making things to create our new role play area.

We will be linking our topic to the geography national curriculum by learning about the four countries that make up the UK, their capital cities and their castles.

We will also be doing some artwork based on castle weapons and armour!

In Maths we are working on reading, writing and counting numbers to 10 as part of our Maths Mastery learning. Look at the different ways we can represent 10!

We have been learning about Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives. We have been working hard to form our letters correctly by starting and finishing in the correct place.

Year 1 have been working on making sure their sentences have a capital letter at the start and full stop at the end.

We have been busy learning some new phonemes (sounds) and tricky words and applying this to our reading and spelling activities.

We have been working hard and have already created some ‘Amazing’ work to go on our display,
