VISION 

  • To provide all children access to a rich, well-sequenced and diverse curriculum.
  • Develop substantive and disciplinary knowledge for all pupils through a range of carefully planned units which answer key questions and incorporate historical enquiry.
  • Develop a strong understanding of chronology of key world events.
  • Develop understanding in significance of key events and changes over time.
  • To distinguish between historical facts and the interpretation of those facts.
  • To understand that events have a multiplicity of causes and that historical explanation is provisional, debatable and sometimes controversial.
  • The curriculum is planned around a number of key concepts that children will be introduced to throughout the curriculum journey. These concepts will be revisited throughout the course of the curriculum through a variety of contexts.
